Description Were looking for a passionate and experienced software engineer to join our growing API & Exports team at Meltwater. This team is responsible for enabling programmatic access to data across the apphandling thousands of exports daily, improving API usability, and managing API integrations and performance at scale. You will work on expanding and optimizing our export functionalities, building scalable APIs, and integrating robust monitoring and management. This is a high-impact team working at the core of our data delivery platform. As part of the API team, you will build the next generation of Meltwaters AI and platform capabilities, focused on MCP (Model Context Protocol), OAuth, permissions, and enterprise-grade governance. Your work will help bring Meltwaters intelligence into external AI workflows. What You'll Do Own the design, development, and optimization of API, export and MCP features. Collaborate closely with product managers and senior engineers to define functionality, while architecting systems that handle high-throughput data pipelines. Participate in building robust export pipelines, streaming architectures, webhook integrations and MCP servers. Maintain high observability and reliability standards using tools like Coralogix, CloudWatch, and Grafana. Participate in on-call rotation and incident response for owned services. What You'll Bring 4+ years of software engineering experience with a strong backend focus. Proficiency in Golang is required. Demonstrated ability in using AI-augmented development workflows (e.g., Claude, Codex, Copilot). Experience designing and developing resilient REST APIs and cloud-native applications (preferably AWS). Good understanding of microservice architecture and backend design principles. Solid knowledge of Postgres, Redis, and ideally DynamoDB. Nice-to-Have Familiarity with asynchronous or event-driven architectures using tools like SQS, SNS, or webhooks. Exposure to DevOps workflows and tools (Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.). Experience working with data exports, reporting systems, or data streaming. Experience improving developer experience around APIs (e.g. OpenAPI, Swagger, static site generators). Familiarity with authentication, API gateways, and rate limiting strategies. Experience in compliance standards for APIs and data handling. Experience with observability tools and practices. Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
