Lead, Data Scientist, ACG Group (Chennai)

Role & responsibilities - As a Senior Data Science & AI Engineer (Solution Architect), you will play a key role in designing, building, and scaling data-driven AI systems that integrate industrial IoT, SAP, and computer vision data across multiple ACG divisions. - You will lead solution design and architecture for various Generative AI, Computer Vision, Traditional ML and Statistics initiatives working at the intersection of data engineering, machine learning, and system integration on cloud (ML Studio, ML Foundry, Yolo Models, Azure Databricks, FastAPI, and PowerBI). - This role demands both hands-on technical depth and architectural thinking, with the ability to mentor interns/juniors and coordinate across business, IT, and plant stakeholders. - End-to-End Solution Design: Architect and implement data & ML pipelines (Python, SQL, Spark) across ingestion, transformation, and model deployment layers (Databricks / Azure). - AI/ML Implementation: Build, train, and deploy machine learning models for process optimization, predictive maintenance, and quality control use cases. - MLOps & Automation: Develop automated workflows for model retraining, versioning, and performance tracking using MLflow or similar tools. - Data Integration: Work with industrial and enterprise data (IoT sensors, SAP APIs, MSSQL systems, Vision Inspection, etc.) to ensure robust and scalable data pipelines. - Infrastructure & Systems: Manage and optimize compute environments (Linux/Ubuntu/WSL2), CI/CD for notebooks/APIs, and Python virtual environments. - API & App Layer: Build FastAPI-based backends and integrate with PowerBI or custom front-end dashboards for visualization. - Governance & Documentation: Contribute to architecture diagrams, BRDs, ML Approach Notes, and Infosec documentation (with IT/Digital teams). - Mentorship: Guide interns and junior engineers on coding practices, data validation, and deployment hygiene. Qualification - B.Tech / M.Tech in Computer Science, Data Science, or equivalent. - Certifications in Azure Data Engineering, Machine Learning, or Databricks preferred. - Experience in industrial / manufacturing domain is a plus. - Prior experience in hybrid (on-prem + cloud) data platform design advantageous. .
