Employment Type: Full-time About the Role JSW JFE Steel Ltd. is seeking a high-caliber safety leader to step into the role of Cluster Head Safety. Based on-site at our Sambalpur facility, you will drive, align, and elevate safety strategies and EHS performance across our Sambalpur, Kolkata, and Chandigarh cluster. As a strategic leader and operational champion, you will oversee safety management systems across a massive workforce, nurture an uncompromising culture of safety, and ensure full compliance with regulatory frameworks and JSWs EHS standards. Key Responsibilities Strategic Safety Leadership: Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive EHS policies, systems, and standard operating procedures across all cluster units. Multi-Site Oversight: Lead daily safety operations, conduct on-site inspections, oversee risk assessments, and drive compliance audits across Sambalpur, Kolkata, and Chandigarh. Incident Management: Drive incident reporting, conduct root-cause investigations, and track implementation of robust corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Culture Change & Large-Scale Workforce Impact: Champion safety culture transformation programs, organizing regular trainings and awareness campaigns for workforce populations exceeding 20,000 personnel. Data-Driven Performance Tracking: Analyze safety metrics, maintain key performance indicators (KPIs), and present performance reports to plant leadership and executive stakeholders. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with plant heads and cross-functional teams to build an environment of continuous improvement and zero-harm operations. Qualifications & Experience Mandatory Requirements Education: Bachelors Degree in Engineering from a recognized institution, coupled with an Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety (ADIS) from a Regional Labour Institute (RLI) or equivalent. Scale Experience: Proven track record of managing safety operations for a large-scale workforce (20,000+ workers) in major manufacturing or industrial settings. Technical Competencies & Certifications: Professional Certifications: NEBOSH IGC/Diploma or equivalent globally recognized safety certification. Regulatory & System Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Indian Factories Act, statutory environmental/safety regulations, ISO 45001, and robust safety management systems. Audit Expertise: Strong auditing capability to evaluate multi-site compliance, conduct hazard identification, and lead risk assessments (HAZOP/HIRA). Soft Skills & Leadership Attributes: Exceptional stakeholder management, coaching, and analytical problem-solving abilities. Proven success in driving safety mindset shifts across diverse, multi-location workforce levels .
