Role Summary Were looking for a Junior R&D Engineer who is excited about robotics, UAVs, AI and autonomous systems. You will work closely with our R&D team to build, test and improve intelligent autonomous systems across UAVs and edge-computing platforms. The role involves hands-on work across C++/Python, computer vision, ArduPilot, MAVLink, embedded Linux and AI on edge devices. This is a highly hands-on role where you will be expected to learn quickly, experiment, build prototypes and take systems from simulation to real-world testing. Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain software for Raspberry Pi, NVIDIA Jetson and other edge-computing platforms.Build and integrate C++ and Python modules for autonomous systems.Work with ArduPilot and MAVLink for vehicle control, telemetry and mission execution.Develop computer vision pipelines using OpenCV and deep-learning models.Assist in deploying and optimizing AI models on Jetson/edge platforms using ONNX/TensorRT.Develop and test autonomous behaviours including navigation, waypoint following, decision-making and mission planning.Assist in developing multi-vehicle and swarm behaviours.Interface with sensors, flight controllers and peripherals using UART, IC, SPI, CAN, PWM and Ethernet.Work with telemetry and communication systems and troubleshoot real-world connectivity issues.Build and test systems using SITL/HITL and simulation environments before field deployment.Conduct field testing, analyse logs and telemetry, identify failures and improve system performance.Write clean, documented and testable code and maintain technical documentation.Collaborate with senior engineers to prototype and evaluate new autonomy and AI capabilities.
