Job Summary Google Cloud - Cloud - GCP (Technical) Sr. Data Engineer / Sr. BI Developer - DA&A; responsible for leading GCP platform engineering, data engineering, and BI solutions delivery. Candidate must have relevant experience of 5 to 9 Years. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and optimizing GCP-based data platforms, ensuring robust, scalable, and secure data and analytics environments. Key Responsibilities Act as GCP Lead Platform Engineer for data and analytics initiatives, providing technical leadership across design, implementation, and operations. Design, set up, and configure core GCP services including Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, DataProc, Composer, and Terraform-based infrastructure. Configure and fine-tune various configuration parameters for each GCP service and explain how those parameters change the behaviour of the GCP service for users. Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and platforms to support DA&A; (Data, Analytics & Automation) use cases. Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform for repeatable, consistent, and secure GCP workplace provisioning. Design and manage networking components including VPC, subnets, routing, and Cloud DNS for secure and performant connectivity. Collaborate with security and platform teams to embed security best practices across GCP services and data platforms. Support and, where applicable, administer GKE environments, working closely with application and data teams. Implement and optimize observability using Google Cloud Monitoring and Logging for system health, performance, and reliability. Work with BI and analytics teams to ensure data platforms meet reporting, dashboarding, and advanced analytics requirements. Troubleshoot and resolve platform, performance, and configuration issues across GCP services. Document architectures, configurations, and operational runbooks for ongoing support and knowledge sharing. Other Capabilities Ability to translate business and analytics requirements into scalable GCP platform designs. Strong problem-solving mindset with focus on reliability, performance, and cost optimization. Effective collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams including data engineers, BI developers, architects, and security teams. Capability to mentor junior engineers and contribute to best practices and standards for GCP usage. Qualifications and Skills Proven experience as Sr. Data Engineer, Sr. BI Developer, or GCP Platform Engineer working on data and analytics platforms. Expert knowledge is must in core GCP services (Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, DataProc, Composer, Terraform). Strong understanding of various configuration parameters for each of the above GCP services and how those parameters impact service behaviour for users. Solid experience in Networking (VPC, Cloud DNS) and security practices in GCP. GKE administration is huge plus. Familiarity with Google Cloud Monitoring and Logging for system observability. Experience with data engineering or BI development in cloud environments, preferably on GCP. Strong scripting or automation skills (e.g., Python, shell) are desirable.
