Associate Compliance OfficerWe are looking for a sharp, proactive Compliance Officer (Associate Level) who will manage regulatory and compliance responsibilities for our GIFT City FME. You will work closely with the Principal Officer and the founding team on all compliance-related matters, filings, and operational processes. Maatra is a global quantitative hedge fund platform scaling across India, the US, and global markets. With the recent launch of our Fund Management Entity (FME) in GIFT City, we are building a long-term institutional footprintthis is our first hire since launch , offering an unmatched opportunity to help build and shape our foundation. Key ResponsibilitiesCore Compliance ResponsibilitiesOversee day-to-day regulatory, legal, and compliance matters for the GIFT City FME.Complete all periodic IFSCA filings, submissions, reports, and documentation.Maintain compliance manuals, SOPs, governance documentation, and internal control frameworks.Handle KYC/AML, investor onboarding, and documentation management.Liaise with custodians, brokers, administrators, legal advisors, and auditors.Maintain compliance calendars, logs, controls, and audit-ready documentation.Support new fund launches, licensing requirements, and expansion-related compliance.Expanded Scope (for someone who wants to do more)Opportunities to contribute to research, operations, analytics, and process building across the firm.Represent Maatra as the face of the firm at GIFT City, attending events, conferences, and ecosystem meetings.Clear pathway for the right individual to lead and eventually head Maatra's GIFT City team as the platform scales.Minimum Qualifications (Non-Negotiable)You must meet one of the following: 1. PG / Professional QualificationsA Professional Qualification, Post Graduate Degree, or PG Diploma in any of the following: Finance Law Accounting Business Management Commerce Economics Capital Markets Banking Insurance Actuarial Science 2. Recognized CertificationsA certification from a regulator-recognized or accredited body in India or abroad (e.g., CFA , etc.) 3. Professional DesignationsCA or CS AND Required Experience35+ years of experience in a securities-facing or markets roleideally in risk, compliance, or regulatory functions across: Banks Asset/Wealth Managers AMCs Broker/Dealers Research Firms FMEs Wealth Advisory Firms Capital Markets Institutions Mandatory: Ability to work onsite every day at GIFT City.
