Job DescriptionWe are looking for an enthusiastic Test Engineer to work at the forefront of our cloud modernisation, within our Credit & Verification Services. This is a hybrid role requiring travelling to Hyderabad office circa 40% days per month. Background: This is an incredibly exciting time for the Experian UKI Region, as we look to build our presence in the UK and Hyderabad and work on a technology transformation to meet our aspiration to significantly scale our business over the next five years. This an opportunity to join Credit & Verification Services on this journey and be part of a collaborative team that uses Agile DevSecOps principles to deliver business value. Credit and Verification Services currently comprises nearly 100 engineering teams who deliver over 200 products achieving significant revenue per annum for our UK Business. Role Context: Were predominantly a .NET focused engineering team, building modern, cloud-native applications using the latest in .NET 8+. All new services are developed with a forward-looking mindset, and we actively evaluate emerging features and tools to continuously improve our engineering practices. Our architecture is built on Kubernetes (EKS), enabling us to run scalable, resilient microservices in the cloud. On top of this, we leverage a wide range of AWS services (Lambda, Kinesis, Dynamo and RDS to name just a few), to enhance performance, observability, and integration across our platform. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test scripts based on business requirements. Develop, maintain, and enhance automation frameworks for UI, API, and backend testing. Create and maintain test data, test environments, and automation scripts. Perform various types of testing: White Box testing Black Box testing Integration testing UI testing API Testing Qualifications4 to 7 years of hands-on experience in a quality engineering, software testing, or test automation.Solid understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile/Scrum processes.Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.Passion for quality, learning new technologies, and continuous improvement.Hands-on experience with UI, API automation tools like Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, REST-assured or Postman.Proficiency in Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) and Test-Driven Development (TDD) approaches.Working knowledge of SQL for data validation.Experience in at least one programming/scripting language: Java, Scala, Python, or JavaScript.Basic understanding of Containers (Docker) and CI/CD processes.Experience with version control systems like Git, Bitbucket, GitHub or Gitlab.Working knowledge of API testing, backend validations, and functional automation.Clear understanding of defect lifecycle, reporting, and issue tracking tools like Jira.Strong collaboration skills and a mindset for quality ownershipAdditional InformationOur uniqueness is that we celebrate yours. That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
