We're a lean, fast-moving team building at the intersection of AI, education, and business growth and we're scaling our people function to match our growth. Role Summary We're looking for an HR Manager to own the full people function from hiring top talent to building the systems, culture, and processes that let a fast-scaling team perform at its best. You'll work closely with leadership to shape how we attract, onboard, retain, and grow talent across a distributed, high-performance team. Key Responsibilities Own end-to-end recruitment: sourcing, screening, interviewing, and closing candidates across roles (marketing, ops, content, tech, sales) Design and manage onboarding processes so new hires ramp up fast and feel set up for success Build and maintain HR policies, employee handbooks, and compliance documentation suited to a fast-growing startup Manage payroll coordination, attendance, leave tracking, and statutory compliance (PF, ESI, etc. where applicable) Drive performance management: goal-setting frameworks, review cycles, feedback systems Own employee engagement culture initiatives, internal communication, and retention strategies Handle grievance redressal and act as a trusted point of contact for employee concerns Partner with leadership on org design, role definitions, and workforce planning as the company scales Track and report HR metrics (attrition, time-to-hire, engagement scores) to leadership Requirements 25 years of experience in HR generalist or HR business partner roles, ideally in a startup or fast-paced environment Proven experience managing full-cycle recruitment, especially for non-traditional/creative/growth roles Strong understanding of Indian labor law and statutory compliance basics Excellent communication skills in English and Hindi (Bengali is a plus, given Kolkata base) Comfortable using HR tech tools (ATS platforms, HRMS, Google Workspace) High ownership mentality able to build processes from scratch, not just follow existing ones Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust across a diverse, distributed team Nice to Have Experience hiring for content, marketing, or ed-tech/consulting businesses Exposure to remote/distributed team management Familiarity with AI tools for HR workflows (screening, scheduling, JD generation) What We Offer A chance to build the people function from the ground up at a high-growth AI education company Direct exposure to leadership and strategic decision-making Fast learning curve, real ownership, and visible impact Competitive salary (based on experience) Skills: performance management,onboarding,recruitment,payroll, employee engagement,ada compliance,hr operations .
