At ZeroNorth, we are at the forefront of transforming the shipping industry through digital innovation. Our solutions go beyond optimising business operations, they are designed to lead the industry in sustainability by significantly reducing CO2 emissions. Our core mission of making global trade greener drives everything we do. Your contributions will play a crucial role in reducing emissions, aligning commercial success with sustainability, and delivering perks for both profitability and the environment. ZeroNorth is powered by a diverse team of 550+ professionals with more than 38 nationalities, operating out of global hubs including Copenhagen (headquarters), Athens, Chennai, Mumbai, Singapore, Sofia, and Tokyo. We are leading the industry's green transition, enabling our partners to leverage data for actionable decarbonisation efforts. Senior Product Manager at ZeroNorth We empower our product teams to solve hard problems, both customer problems and business problems, in ways our customers love and that work for the business. The API portal team is cross-functional and durable: a product manager, engineers, and design support. We staff the team with the skills needed to find solutions that are valuable (customers choose to use them), viable (they work within the constraints of the business), usable, and feasible. Engineering is accountable for feasibility; the product manager is accountable for ensuring the solution is both valuable and viable. This is a technical product management role, an individual-contributor position, that operates independently and leads through influence, data and logic rather than authority. It carries more scope than a typical product team PM role: as owner of the API portal, you will also set the API strategy across all of ZeroNorth's external APIs company-wide, which means working with and convincing senior engineers across teams to adopt an API-first way of working. You will author and drive PRDs with senior engineers and Data & AI, make strategic calls on API access and pricing, and represent the API in the data-governance review. We hold product teams accountable to outcomes, not just delivering. You will need to contribute a solid understanding of the business constraints around you (commercial, legal, data governance), a deep knowledge of the customers building on the API, and a read on where the market for programmatic, agentic access to maritime data is heading. Key responsibilities The API roadmap, prioritised against real, evidenced demand: strong signals from multiple large fleet operators already asking for programmatic access to their data. Data and Services as a Product, delivered through the API, launching later this year with broader rollout to follow. API access and pricing decisions, shaping how the API is commercialised. The data-governance review gate for new API access requests, with clear data governance and access control on every decision. Continuous discovery with customers building their own AI-native workflows on ZeroNorth data, so the roadmap tracks what they actually need. Company-wide alignment on API-first, working with senior engineers across teams not only the API portal team) so every new feature ships with the API surface it needs, no exceptions. What good looks like in the first 612 months By the time you start, the foundation (architecture, data standards, an approved commercial model, ownership of the API surface, and a first customer pilot) will already be underway.Your first year builds on it: The first pilot turns into several customers running the API portal in production, onboarded through a repeatable path rather than bespoke one-offs. The roadmap ships new datasets and endpoints at a steady cadence, prioritisedagainst real demand. Full rollout lands, expanding from the first datasets to a broader catalogue of data products. The commercial model is proven on live deals, generating meaningful API revenue. Continuous discovery is embedded as a habit, not a one-off exercise. The API runs as a governed, trusted surface, with access decisions made according to agreed principles rather than granted ad hoc. Your profile Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. Demonstrated understanding of the techniques and methods of modern product discovery and product delivery, applied with real independence. Significant experience (typically 5+ years) working on technology-powered products as a product manager, engineer, designer, data analyst, or data scientist, including direct ownership of a product area end to end. Demonstrated ability to operate across multiple functional areas relevant to this role: engineering, data, commercial/pricing, and governance. A track record of authoring and driving specs or PRDs with senior engineers, and of making structural product decisions under real ambiguity. Proven ability to influence senior engineers, designers and company leaders through a constructive .
