Job Profile - Head of Automation Location: Pune, India Work Mode Hybrid (3 days onsite mandatory) Preferred experience: 15+ years The Role: We are looking for a hands-on automation leader with strong advisory capability who can stabilize, guide, and elevate an existing automation ecosystem. The role requires acting as both a Technology Advisor and Delivery Leader, providing technical guidance across the automation landscape while driving the evolution from traditional RPA-led automation to Intelligent and Agentic Automation. You will engage with senior stakeholders, lead hybrid teams, and build innovative automation capabilities across the organization. Responsibilities: 1. Automation Strategy & Advisory Define and drive enterprise-wide automation roadmapEvaluate problems tool-agnostically and recommend best-fit solutionsIdentify and scale use cases leveraging tools / technologies below (represented and not exhaustive)RPA (Automation Anywhere, UiPath)Scripting (Python)Data (Alteryx, Power BI)AI/ML & GenAIIDP (Intelligent Document Processing)Power PlatformEmerging Agentic AIShowcase automation value to leadership forumsImprove / evolve the overall value proposition of the existing set up. 2. Delivery & Platform Governance Oversee delivery across automation programs (quality, timelines, value)Manage platform ecosystem (licenses, upgrades, vendor coordination)Ensure automation support, stability, and service managementDrive citizen development enablement 3. Stakeholder & Influence Leadership Partner with business and non-tech stakeholders Present solutions and value proposition to senior leadershipDemonstrate outcomes and ROI (hard value delivery mindset)Operate effectively in a matrix environment 4. Team & Vendor Leadership Manage 3 direct reportsGuide and mentor next-line leaders (T6/T7)Manage vendor partners, contracts, and commercials 5. Transformation & Innovation Anchor shift toward Agentic Automation DeliveryDrive experimentation and innovation across toolsBuild a culture of continuous upskilling and curiosity Must - Have Qualifications: Minimum 10 years of Hands-on experience leading enterprise automation initiatives. Strong advisory capability with the ability to recommend technology-agnostic automation solutions. Experience with Automation Anywhere, UiPath, Python, Alteryx, Power BI, AI/ML & GenAI, Intelligent Document Processing (IDP), Power Platform, Agentic AI Experience managing automation delivery, platform governance, and service management. Strong stakeholder management and senior leadership engagement skills. Experience managing hybrid teams (FTEs and vendors). Experience building automation strategies and enterprise roadmaps.Experience managing vendor relationships, contracts, and commercials. Strong focus on automation value realization and ROI.Experience driving the transformation from RPA-led automation to Intelligent and Agentic Automation. Experience enabling citizen development initiatives. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.Ability to foster innovation and continuous upskilling across automation teams. Experience demonstrating automation use cases and value propositions to executive leadership. Ability to lead experimentation and innovation across emerging automation technologies.
