As a Software Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for developing sophisticated systems and software based on the customer s business goals, needs and general business environment. You will work with product management, other engineering teams, customer success and support on developing cutting edge new product features and enhancements across various areas of Boomi offerings. This role is within the Advanced Support Engineering team which is uniquely positioned with responsibilities in both customer support as well as in software development. The team is responsible for Tier 3 customer support cases. As part of this role, you will investigate the most challenging customer issues, perform deep investigation into the product code base to identify root cause and assist with resolution of issues. The Advanced Support Engineering team develops software changes across all Boomi products with a focus on improving the supportability of the products. You will also develop tools for direct delivery to customers in order to assist with their usage of the products. The Advanced Support Engineer must demonstrate skills and interest in both software development as well as customer issue resolution. What You Will Do - Be a key part of the full product development lifecycle of software applications offered by Boomi - Investigate and resolve complex customer issues; maintain high customer satisfaction - Work independently with a moderate level of guidance from engineering management - Work comfortably within a high pressure environment - Design, implement and unit test changes to Boomi products including enhancements, defect fixes and/or configuration adjustments - Recommend best practices and techniques to customers - Research, validate and recommend key solutions - Mentor other Boomi engineers, including design collaboration and code reviews - Be an active member of an Agile team, collaboratively realizing features through continuous development, test and delivery The Experience You Bring - Bachelor s or Master s degree in Engineering or Computer Science - 10+ years of commercial experience in software development using the Java programming language including the use of some IDE with a solid understanding of object oriented design concepts for delivering and maintaining a software product - Experience in designing and implementing highly scalable, high throughput web applications and backend systems - Technical understanding of SQL, Hibernate, XML and JSON - Knowledge of SOA concepts - Technical understanding of Web Services technologies including REST, SOAP and WSDL is required - Exposure to mature development processes including use of source code control systems like Git - Demonstrated comfort with videoconferencing systems such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams - Strong reading, writing and oral communication skills - Experience working with AI to automate work efforts and research knowledge Bonus Points If You Have: - Knowledge of front end technologies, especially Javascript; GWT is a plus - Knowledge of Agile development methodology - Knowledge of Linux/Unix environments - Work experience within an enterprise software or web company is significant - Experience with training an AI/ML model Role: Software Development - Other Industry Type: IT Services & Consulting Department: Engineering - Software & QA Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent Role Category: Software Development Education UG: B.Tech/B.E. in Any Specialization, Any Graduate PG: Any Postgraduate .
