Job Description Senior Cloud DBA (PostgreSQL & Databricks)Job Title Senior Cloud DBA (PostgreSQL & Databricks) Job Type Full-Time Experience 58+ Years About the Role We are seeking an experienced Senior Cloud DBA with expertise in PostgreSQL, Databricks Lakehouse, and Cloud Database Modernization to join our Data Engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, administering, optimizing, and modernizing cloud-based database environments while ensuring high availability, scalability, security, and performance. The role requires strong hands-on experience with Azure Database for PostgreSQL, Databricks Lakehouse Architecture, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Apache Airflow, Kafka, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and support enterprise-scale cloud data platforms and modern data architectures. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, administer, and optimize PostgreSQL databases in cloud environments. Manage cloud database platforms including Azure Database for PostgreSQL, AWS RDS PostgreSQL, and Google Cloud SQL. Plan and execute database modernization and cloud migration initiatives. Design and implement scalable Databricks Lakehouse solutions using the Medallion Architecture. Develop and maintain data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF), Databricks Workflows, and Apache Airflow. Support real-time data ingestion and event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka. Monitor database health, performance, availability, backup, and disaster recovery. Perform database tuning, query optimization, indexing, and performance troubleshooting. Implement CI/CD pipelines for database deployments and automation. Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for provisioning and managing cloud database resources. Collaborate with Data Engineers, Cloud Architects, DevOps teams, and application developers. Ensure database security, compliance, governance, and best practices across cloud platforms. Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis for database-related incidents. Required QualificationsEducation Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Experience 58+ years of experience as a Database Administrator (DBA), Cloud DBA, or Database Engineer. Strong experience administering PostgreSQL databases in cloud environments. Hands-on experience with enterprise-scale database modernization and cloud migration projects. Experience supporting high-availability, mission-critical database environments. Knowledge of cloud security, governance, and compliance best practices. Experience supporting analytics, business intelligence, and AI/ML platforms. Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, PostgreSQL, or Databricks certifications are preferred. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
