OverviewThe Motor Design Engineer plays a critical role in the development of innovative motor solutions that meet the performance, efficiency, and reliability standards necessary for modern applications. This role is essential within the engineering team and directly contributes to the advancement of electric motors and drives, impacting various sectors including automotive, industrial, and consumer products. The Motor Design Engineer is responsible for the comprehensive design and analysis of motor systems, ensuring that they are optimized for performance while aligning with commercial and safety regulations. By engaging closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and product management, the Motor Design Engineer helps bring reliable and cutting-edge motor technologies to market, enhancing the competitive edge of the organization.Key Responsibilities Design and optimize electric motor systems.Conduct thermal and electromagnetic analysis of motor designs.Create detailed specifications for motor components.Utilize CAD software for 3D modeling of motor parts.Collaborate with manufacturing teams for prototype development.Perform testing and validation of motor prototypes.Analyze data to assess motor performance and reliability.Work on reducing production costs while maintaining quality.Engage in continuous improvement of motor designs.Support project management with design timelines and milestones.Document design processes and results comprehensively.Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.Participate in team meetings and provide updates on projects.Mentor junior engineers and interns in design practices.Assist in troubleshooting design and performance issues.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.Minimum of 3 years experience in motor design or related engineering roles.Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.).Familiarity with simulation software (ANSYS, COMSOL, etc.).Understanding of electrical and mechanical integration.Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis techniques.Knowledge of design for manufacturability (DFM) principles.Experience in thermal management of electronic systems.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong problem-solving abilities and a detail-oriented mindset.Experience working in a team-oriented environment.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Familiarity with industry standards relating to electric motors.Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices.Experience with project management tools and techniques.Willingness to travel for project-related tasks and engagements. .
