Job Description for Cisco Wireless Responsibilities: Deep understanding of WLAN technologies, network management, and security, including IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax WLAN standards and industry best practices. Excellent understanding of Cisco wireless infrastructure and architecture. Good handson experience with Wireless LAN controller-8500/9800 series and Cisco APs troubleshooting as well as with the Cisco WLC IOS Code upgrade. Handson experience on Cisco WLC models like 9800, 8500, 5508 with HA SSO and all models of Cisco APs including wave 2 and next generation 9100 series APs. Deploy and configure WLC in HA mode and test / validate / document HA capabilities. Must have experience on next generation wireless solutions IOSXE (9800 WLC and 9100 AP). Experience on 802.1X Authentication protocols WPA2/WPA3-Enterprise, Web portal authentication, Role based access control (RBAC) Policies. Solid knowledge and recent experience with current and upcoming wireless RF standards on WiFi, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be. Extensive knowledge of security protocols and authentication (WiFi Protected Access [WPA2/WPA3], Extensible Authentication ProtocolTransport Layer Security [EAPTLS], Extensible Authentication ProtocolPEAP, 802.1X, Authentication, Authorization, Accounting [AAA]) and MultiFactor Authentication. Level 3 skills and knowledge on wireless protocols, traffic flow, endtoend wireless network topology, encryption, and roaming architecture. Excellent network troubleshooting skills and must be able to quickly identify and resolve network related issues in smallest possible time. Fundamental knowledge of switching / routing protocols and authentication. Experience with Cisco Prime, DNAC a plus. Handson knowledge and understanding of Cisco ISE and Cisco MSE will be added advantage. Able to handle all L3 level escalations. Perform physical restoration of device and configurations. Interact with the client on a daytoday basis and understand changes in the process. Upgrade IOS and patches as per schedule. Handles all changes as per the change management process. Work on complex problem tickets and trend analysis to resolve repeated wireless issues. Client Site visit if necessary. Passive and Active Survey using tools like Ekahau sidekick, Netspot, Fluke Networks. Primary skill: Cisco Wireless Minimum experience: 6 years relevant experience on Primary skill Certifications: Desired: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Wireless / CCNP Wireless /CCIE Wireless Good to have: Certified Wireless Network Administrator-CWNA/CWDP/CWSP/CWAP .

If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully.
