Ensure Accuracy and Compliance: Verify that all coding practices adhere to current coding standards, payer policies, and regulatory requirements, including CMS guidelines and local payer rules. Documentation and Query: Interpret clinical documentation to determine the correct codes and, when necessary, query healthcare providers for additional information to ensure accurate coding. Claims Submission: Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies and other payers, ensuring that all necessary documentation is included and that claims are compliant with payer requirements. Maintain Knowledge: Stay up-to-date with changes in coding regulations, payer policies, and industry best practices related to anesthesia coding. Audit and Review: Participate in internal audits and reviews of coding practices to ensure accuracy and identify areas for improvement. Resolve Coding Issues: Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies related to coding and billing, including reviewing denied or rejected claims and working to correct errors. Collaboration: Work closely with anesthesia providers, billing departments, and other healthcare specialists to ensure a thorough understanding of procedures and coding requirements. Training and Education: Provide training and support to other coding staff or healthcare providers on coding practices and compliance as needed. .
