Role Description This is a full-time on-site role for a Civil Engineer Quantity Surveyor based in Kolkata. The role involves preparing detailed estimates, bills of quantities, and cost plans for construction and infrastructure projects handled by clients of the firm. The Civil Engineer Quantity Surveyor will review drawings and specifications, conduct rate analysis, track material and labor costs, and support tender preparation and bid evaluations. The role includes monitoring project budgets, performing cost control and variance analysis, and preparing periodic cost reports for internal and client use. The individual will liaise with contractors, vendors, and client teams, verify measurements, support valuation of work done, and assist in resolving cost-related queries and documentation for financial and audit purposes. Qualifications Civil engineering foundation: Bachelors degree or diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution, with strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and structural drawings. Quantity surveying and estimation: Proven ability in quantity take-off, rate analysis, preparation of bills of quantities, cost estimation, and tender documentation for building and infrastructure projects. Cost control and project finance: Skills in budget tracking, cost monitoring, variance analysis, and coordination of project cost data with finance, audit, and compliance requirements. Technical tools and documentation: Proficiency in MS Excel and other estimation tools; familiarity with CAD drawings and standard measurement practices; strong documentation and reporting skills. Analytical and communication abilities: Strong numerical aptitude, attention to detail, ability to interpret technical documents, and clear written and verbal communication with multidisciplinary teams. Professional attributes: Ability to work on-site, manage multiple assignments, adhere to timelines, and collaborate effectively with engineering, accounting, and advisory teams; prior experience in quantity surveying or project cost management is preferred. .
