We are looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join a 24/7, follow-the-sun SRE team responsible for keeping our critical production systems reliable, scalable, and secure around the clock. As part of a globally distributed team spanning multiple time zones, you will share on-call coverage that follows daylight hours rather than night shifts, and partner closely with development teams to automate operations, strengthen observability, and continuously improve system resilience. ## What you'll do You will ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of critical systems, and define, measure, and report on SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets, using them to prioritize reliability work. You will develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to streamline operations, and develop and maintain monitoring dashboards and alerts. Leading incident response efforts and post-mortem analysis to prevent future occurrences is a key part of the role. You will also optimize system performance and scalability, monitor and optimize cloud spend (for example, right-sizing and autoscaling with Karpenter) to balance reliability with cost efficiency, and implement and maintain security best practices. Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for systems and processes is expected, as is mentoring junior engineers and championing SRE best practices across cross-functional teams. You will own front-line 24/7 on-call rotations and incident response for critical production systems, acting as the reliability shield for the platform and observability engineering teams so they are not paged for production incidents. ## Who we're looking for We're seeking someone with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (advanced degrees are a plus) and at least 5 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong background in software engineering and systems administration. You should have proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python or Go, and extensive experience with the AWS cloud platform. Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Cloud. Formation is required, as is expertise in Docker and Kuberneteshands-on Kubernetes experience is a must. We also look for familiarity with Kubernetes technologies like Argo. CD, Linkerd, Prometheus, and Karpenter. You should be proficient with monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana, and logging tools like the ELK stack or Loki stack. Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment tools such as Jenkins, Git. Lab CI, or Circle. CI is important, along with a strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and security. ## Minimum qualifications You should have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. A Master's degree in a related field and 1+ year of experience, or a Ph. D in a related field, also meets the minimum. Additionally, you need 2+ years of academic or work experience with a programming language like C, C++, Java, or Python. ## Soft skills we value Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills are essential, along with strong verbal and written communication skills. You should be able to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Proven leadership skills and the ability to mentor junior engineers are important, and you should be comfortable working in a fully distributed, offshore setup, collaborating effectively with development teams across multiple locations. .
