The T1/T2 Database Infrastructure Support Engineer is responsible for delivering advanced Tier 1/2 support for the organizations database environments which include SQL server, Oracle, Snowflake and AWS DB solutions like PostgreSQL. This role is focused on ensuring the reliability, security, and optimal performance of critical DB systems by proactively monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving complex technical issues. The engineer works closely with cross-functional teams to minimize service interruptions and maintain high data availability and integrity. Key responsibilities include managing and optimizing enterprise DB servers, and related infrastructure, as well as implementing best practices. By maintaining and enhancing the DB landscape, the T1/T2 Database Infrastructure Support Engineer plays an essential role in supporting business continuity and safeguarding organizational data assets. Responsibilities: Implement and manage DB solutions. Monitor performance and capacity. Administer DB servers. Perform routine maintenance. Decommission servers Ensure data integrity. Requirements: 6 to 12 years of experience in database engineering or administration is necessary. 6 to 12 years of experience with modern DB solutions like PostgreSQL, RDS, Oracle, SQL Server, Snowflake. 5+ years knowledge and experience in Database Performance, Tuning and Optimization (PTO) Excellent knowledge in system views and system stored procedures 5+ years hands on experience with database security, auditing, backup/restore, DR and high availability 5+ years experience with data partitioning, indexing best practices, resource governor, extended events. Experience with DTS and SSIS Packages. 5+ years knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws. Knowledge of Incident/Problem Management and is familiar with ITIL processes in a critical production environment. 5+ years of experience with ticketing systems: Familiarity with help desk or ticketing software such as ServiceNow or JIRA, for tracking and managing technical cases. Preferences: Masters degree Experience within the financial or wealth management industry Core Competencies: Able to make quick decisions and resolve complex technical problems Ability to manage through shift changes and effectively transition open and unresolved issues. Ability to adapt, learn new technologies, develop new processes, and improve procedures. Excellent documentation skills. Ability to write, read, interpret, and edit complex documents and correspondence with team members and stakeholders. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
