We advise a diverse portfolio of domestic and international clients, delivering strategic, commercially driven legal and tax solutions. As part of our continued expansion, we are seeking an accomplished Partner Direct Tax to lead and strengthen our Direct Tax practice. This is a leadership role offering the opportunity to shape the firm's strategic direction, drive business growth, and build a high-performing tax practice. Key Responsibilities Leading and managing the Firm's Direct Tax Practice, including advisory, litigation, compliance, and strategic tax planning.Advising clients on complex matters relating to the Income-tax Act, 1961, domestic taxation, international taxation, transfer pricing, tax structuring, M&A tax implications, and cross-border transactions.Representing clients before the Income Tax Department, Commissioner of Income Tax (Appeals), Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT), High Courts, the Supreme Court, and other judicial and quasi-judicial authorities.Leading high-value tax litigation, assessments, reassessments, search and seizure matters, appeals, and dispute resolution.Reviewing legal opinions, written submissions, tax memoranda, litigation strategy, and advisory reports.Building, developing, and expanding the Firm's Direct Tax practice through strategic client acquisition, business development initiatives, and market outreach.Managing and strengthening long-term client relationships while ensuring exceptional service delivery.Leading and mentoring a team of lawyers, chartered accountants, tax professionals, associates, and interns.Collaborating with the Corporate, GST, Customs, and Litigation teams to deliver integrated legal and tax solutions.Driving strategic initiatives, knowledge management, practice development, branding, and thought leadership for the Firm. Eligibility & Experience 12+ years of post-qualification experience in Direct Tax advisory, litigation, assessments, appeals, and strategic tax planning.Strong command over the Income-tax Act, 1961, allied rules, judicial precedents, and tax regulations.Extensive experience in handling litigation before appellate authorities and courts.Demonstrated leadership experience in managing teams, client portfolios, and practice operations.Proven business development capabilities with an established professional network.Excellent drafting, analytical, negotiation, advocacy, and client management skills.Prior experience with a leading law firm, consulting firm, or Big Four organization will be preferred.
