Position Details: Role: Cost Accountant Location: Chennai - Nandanam Qualification: B.Com & CMA preferred Experience: 36 Years Industry: Manufacturing Job Description: Key Responsibilities - Prepare and maintain accurate product cost sheets for new and existing products. Analyze and monitor material, labor, and overhead costs; identify and explain cost variances. Perform standard costing and variance analysis, reporting deviations to management.Evaluate BOMs, routings, and manufacturing processes to identify cost optimization opportunities.Ensure accurate allocation, absorption, and control of overheads.Support pricing decisions, margin analysis, and profitability assessment.Assist in inventory valuation, cost audits, and reconciliation of cost records.Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.Monitor and control expenditures to improve cost efficiency and adherence to budgets.Prepare periodic MIS reports and detailed cost and profitability analyses.Manage and track project costs in coordination with project managers and stakeholders.Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial regulations, and audit requirements.Collaborate with production, procurement, engineering, and finance teams to drive cost control initiatives.
