Key Responsibilities: Identify and evaluate potential local vendors for casting and machining components based on quality, capacity, capability, and cost-effectiveness. Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and new vendors, fostering a collaborative and mutually beneficial partnership. Collaborate with the procurement team to negotiate favorable terms and agreements with vendors, including pricing, delivery schedules, and quality standards. Conduct regular assessments and audits of vendor facilities to ensure compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and ethical practices. Provide technical support and guidance to vendors on casting and machining processes, specifications, and quality requirements. Coordinate with internal engineering and production teams to communicate vendor capabilities, constraints, and project requirements effectively. Monitor vendor performance through KPIs and metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary. Drive continuous improvement initiatives in vendor development processes to optimize efficiency, reduce lead times, and minimize costs. Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to casting and machining processes, sharing insights and recommendations with the team. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field. Advanced degree preferred. Proven experience of 8-10 years working in vendor development, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in the automotive, aerospace, or manufacturing industries. In-depth knowledge of casting and machining processes, including but not limited to sand casting, investment casting, CNC machining, and turning. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and quality requirements. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in negotiation and relationship management. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams. Proficiency in relevant software applications for data analysis, project management, and ERP systems.
