Head - Accounts Payable - Shared Services

Job Title : Head - Accounts Payable Location : Navi Mumbai Qualification : Chartered Accountant (CA) - Mandatory Experience : 15+ Years Role Overview : We are looking for an experienced and strategic Accounts Payable Head to lead the end-to-end Accounts Payable function for the organization. The incumbent will be responsible for managing vendor payments, ensuring compliance with accounting policies and statutory regulations, driving process improvements, and leading a high-performing AP team. Key Responsibilities : Accounts Payable Management : - Lead and oversee the complete Accounts Payable process, including invoice processing, payment approvals, vendor reconciliations, and payment execution. - Ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices and employee reimbursements. - Monitor payment cycles and optimize working capital management. Vendor Management : - Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and stakeholders. - Resolve vendor queries and payment-related escalations in a timely manner. - Ensure accurate vendor master data management and controls. Financial Controls & Compliance : - Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, GST regulations, TDS requirements, and statutory guidelines. - Establish and maintain strong internal controls across the AP function. - Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations. Process Improvement & Automation : - Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and digitization within the AP function. - Drive implementation of best practices and continuous improvement initiatives. - Collaborate with finance, procurement, and technology teams to enhance operational efficiency. Reporting & Analytics : - Prepare AP dashboards, MIS reports, aging analysis, and payment forecasts. - Monitor key performance indicators and provide insights to senior management. - Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial closing activities. Team Leadership : - Lead, mentor, and develop the Accounts Payable team. - Establish performance metrics and ensure adherence to service level agreements. - Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous learning. Candidate Profile : - Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory. - 15+ years of progressive experience in Accounts Payable, Finance Operations, or Shared Services. - Proven experience managing large AP teams and high-volume transactions. - Strong understanding of GST, TDS, accounting principles, and financial controls. - Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms. - Strong stakeholder management, leadership, and problem-solving skills. - Excellent communication and analytical abilities. Preferred Experience : - Experience in Shared Services, Global Capability Centers (GCCs), Manufacturing, Infrastructure, Real Estate, or Large Corporate environments. - Exposure to process transformation and automation initiatives. - Experience handling large vendor ecosystems and complex payment operations.
