They are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable & Payroll Specialist to support the Finance Department by managing payroll processing, accounts payable, and general accounting support.ResponsibilitiesYou will support semi-monthly payroll, maintain payroll-related timekeeping and accrual data in the HRIS, review payroll data for accuracy, and ensure records are maintained with confidentiality and careYou will review, code, and process vendor invoices, manage the bill payment schedule, reconcile vendor statements, maintain vendor records, and support year-end 1099 preparationYou will process retirement plan contributions and distributions, assist with retirement account loan documentation, coordinate with plan administrators, and communicate relevant benefits updates to employeesYou will enter and categorize expenses, invoices, and payments in QuickBooks, perform monthly bank reconciliations, assist with month-end and year-end close processes, and maintain organized, audit-ready financial recordsSkillsAt least two years of experience in payroll processing, accounts payable, bookkeeping, or a related finance roleProficiency in QuickBooks and ADP Workforce Now (or comparable payroll software)Strong attention to detail and organizational skillsThe ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities independentlyA high level of discretion and professionalism when handling confidential informationStrong verbal and written communication skillsA collaborative, service-oriented approach when working with employees, vendors, and internal teamsA commitment to affirming the McLean Bible Church Vision and Values and Standards of Christian ConductPreferred experience with retirement plan administration, including 403(b) plans or similar retirement plansCompany OverviewJills House, Inc., is a 501 (C)(3) non - profit organization that provides respite for children with intellectual disabilities and their families in the greater Washington, DC area.
