ob Title: SOC Intern (Cybersecurity) Location: Viman Nagar, Pune Duration: 1 Year (Internship with potential for extension or full-time opportunity) About the Role We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Information Security Interns/Freshers with a keen interest in Cybersecurity, Security Operations, and Threat Detection. This internship offers hands-on experience in monitoring security events, investigating incidents, and supporting cybersecurity initiatives within a global enterprise environment. You will work closely with experienced security professionals and gain exposure to industry-leading security tools, security operations processes, incident response practices, and cyber threat management. Key Responsibilities Assist in monitoring security alerts and events from various security platforms and tools Support investigation and analysis of potential security incidents and suspicious activities Help document security incidents, findings, and remediation activities Participate in vulnerability assessment and remediation tracking activities Assist in reviewing security logs and identifying potential threats or anomalies Support email security, endpoint security, and identity protection initiatives Collaborate with IT teams to understand security controls and best practices Contribute to security awareness initiatives and documentation efforts Stay updated on emerging cyber threats, attack techniques, and security trends Ideal Candidate Profile Technical Skills Basic understanding of Information Security and Cybersecurity concepts Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, VPN, Firewalls) Understanding of operating systems (Windows and/or Linux) Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts such as malware, phishing, ransomware, and vulnerability management Basic understanding of security monitoring and incident response processes Exposure to scripting or programming languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash Familiarity with log analysis and troubleshooting concepts Preferred (Nice to Have) Exposure to SIEM platforms such as Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, QRadar, or similar tools Understanding of Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR) solutions Familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools and security assessment concepts Knowledge of cloud security fundamentals (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud) Participation in cybersecurity labs, Capture The Flag (CTF) events, or security projects Awareness of security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS Controls Soft Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Attention to detail and investigative mindset Effective written and verbal communication skills Eagerness to learn and stay current with cybersecurity trends Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment Self-motivated with a proactive approach to learning Educational Qualification Recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field Relevant cybersecurity certifications are a plus, such as: CompTIA Security+ Microsoft Security, Compliance & Identity Fundamentals (SC-900) Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) Foundation Level ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC) What You'll Gain Real-world experience working within a Security Operations Center (SOC) environment Exposure to enterprise security monitoring, incident investigation, and response processes Hands-on experience with industry-standard cybersecurity tools and technologies Mentorship from experienced cybersecurity professionals in India and Austria Opportunity to participate in security improvement initiatives and projects A potential pathway to full-time employment based on performance and business requirements .
