Job Description Become a essential part of the Data Refinement team, which provides data integration services for most downstream Media Measurement departments. Design, develop, test and deploy big data applications and pipelines Ensure that you and the team follow best practices for data pipeline design with attention to the scalability, efficiency and maintainability Collaborate in a distributed, cross-functional agile team of Data Engineers, Data Scientists and Cloud Engineers to reach shared goals Take ownership of technical implementations and architecture together with your team and in alignment with communities of practices Communicate with data producers & consumers to align on data exchange formats and interfaces Provide suggestions to business in the Media Measurement context on how existing and new data sources can be utilized to enhance our existing product portfolio Recommend different ways to constantly improve data reliability and quality Improve ways of working with integrating AI based workflows in the engineering domain Take ownership of the components, pipelines and the overall system so that you contribute to improve things over time Qualifications +6 years of relevant experience in Data Engineering using Spark. Solid hands-on experience with Python but also experience with Java or Scala Knowledge in how to develop data-intensive scalable applications using Spark. Knowledge in writing SQL queries to wrangle data from relational databases Knowledge in how to orchestrate data pipelines with Airflow or any other similar data scheduling and orchestration tool. Knowledge with Public Cloud providers (ideally AWS with services like S3, Lambda, EMR). Experience with AWS and ideally Terraform, Data Lake & Lake Formation, Open Table formats like Apache Iceberg Experience with CI/CD and source control tools ( Github/GitLab). That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
