If you’re looking for a marketing role with variety, visibility and genuine impact, this could be your next move. As our Marketing Advisor, you’ll bring Council storiesto life through smart, audience-led campaigns. From shaping the strategy to selecting channels and measuring results, you’ll be involved across the full campaign journey. Working alongside our marketing and communications specialists, you’ll collaborate with teams across Council and trusted external suppliers. You’ll balance creativity with commercial thinking, using data and insight to make every campaign work harder. This is a full-time role, 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday. Your focus in this role will include: Turning business objectives into compelling, integrated marketing campaigns. Developing campaign strategies across owned, earned and paid channels. Creating engaging content and collateral that is unmistakably Palmy! Finding fresh ways to reach audiences and cut through a busy media landscape. Using audience insights and campaign data to test, learn and optimise. Working with creative, media and print suppliers to deliver quality work on time and within budget. Providing confident, practical marketing advice to teams across Council. Protecting and strengthening the reputation of Palmy and its city brand. About you | Ngā kōrero mōu You’re a marketer who puts the community at the heart of every campaign. You bring creativity, audience insight and evidence to the same table, knowing the strongest ideas are those that connect with people and deliver meaningful results. You’re curious, commercially minded and comfortable moving between strategy and execution. You can untangle a complex brief, find the story that matters and turn it into a clear campaign that inspires action. What you will bring: A bachelor’s degree with a marketing or communications focus. Strong campaign experience across traditional and digital media. A proven ability to establish, measure and deliver against marketing KPIs. A sharp understanding of audiences, targeting and impactful messaging. Excellent writing and spelling skills, with a keen eye for detail. The ability to translate data and insights into effective marketing decisions. Strong strategic thinking, planning and problem-solving skills. Confidence building relationships and influencing colleagues, stakeholders and suppliers. Commercial awareness, including experience forecasting and tracking results. The ability to spot opportunities while managing brand and reputational risk. Experience with, or an understanding of, te ao Māori. A collaborative attitude, positive energy and the drive to keep projects moving.
