The Role Design, develop, and maintain full-stack web applications that support product learning, mentoring, capability development, and community initiatives. Manage the complete software development lifecycle, including solution design, coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and ongoing enhancements. Work closely with Product Managers, Designers, and stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and user-centric digital solutions. Build and maintain APIs, system integrations, and shared services that connect with enterprise platforms and government-wide services. Implement automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices to improve software quality and delivery efficiency. Ensure applications meet standards for security, reliability, performance, accessibility, and operational resilience. Investigate and resolve production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term improvements. Create and maintain technical documentation, system architecture records, and operational procedures. Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in software engineering with strong exposure to full-stack application development. Proficient in modern programming technologies such as TypeScript, React, Node.js, Go, or similar frameworks. Hands-on experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs and working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL. Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, DevOps practices, and modern software delivery methodologies. Strong understanding of software architecture, coding standards, application security, and system scalability. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams. Experience supporting and maintaining production systems with a focus on reliability and continuous improvement. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one.
