About the Service Wongan Cubbyhouse is a not-for-profit, volunteer community run service located in regional WA Wheatbelt area 2 hours north of Perth. We are a one-room service with children from 3mths up to school-aged occupying the same space, licenced for 28 children each day. Open Monday to Friday from 8am - 515pm, shifts vary with maximum shift each day being 8.5hrs. The service also closes for 3 weeks over the Christmas period and one week mid-year. Cubbyhouse has a strong community connection and is searching for another educator to join our small committed team who has similar community values. About the role Wongan Cubbyhouse Inc. is seeking an experienced and qualified Early Childhood Educator to join our dedicated team providing high-quality education and care to children in a long day care environment. The successful applicant will work closely with children, families, educators and management to support children's learning, development and wellbeing in accordance with the National Quality Framework (NQF), Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and all relevant legislation. Key responsibilities Plan, implement and evaluate educational programs suitable for children from infancy to school age. Assist children to achieve developmental milestones in cognitive, physical, social and emotional learning. Create a safe, nurturing and stimulating learning environment. Observe, monitor and document children's progress and development. Prepare educational materials, resources and learning activities. Support children's social development, behaviour management and emotional wellbeing. Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities. Ensure children's health, hygiene, nutrition and safety requirements are met. Build positive relationships with children, parents, families and community stakeholders. Work collaboratively with educators and management to achieve quality outcomes for children. About you Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care; or Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care together with substantial relevant experience and working towards a Diploma qualification. Minimum two years full-time (or equivalent part-time) recent experience working as an Early Childhood Educator, Child Care Worker or similar role in a childcare centre, kindergarten, preschool or early learning environment (excluding any work placement). Experience planning and delivering educational programs for young children. Working With Children Check (or ability to obtain one). Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificates (or ability to obtain). Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with children, families and team members. Strong understanding of child development and early childhood education principles. Strong organisational and time management skills. Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
