An opportunity has become available for an experienced and enthusiastic Learning Support Officer to join our team. This is a full-time, ongoing position, Monday to Friday. Conditions include working during the school term only, with paid school holidays. About the Role Under the direction of the Head of Learning Diversity, the Learning Support Officer provides support to assist students to further develop their academic, personal and/or interpersonal skills and knowledge in mainstream education. The role will include, but is not limited to: Providing in-class support for teachers and their students with learning needs. Supporting and supervising students with additional learning needs in and out of the classroom environment. Work with small groups of students in intervention programs such as MacqLit and Sounds Writes Ensuring administration of timely and accurate data for legislative compliance (NCCD) and disability provisions. Attendance on excursions and camps as required. Collaborating with classroom teachers to ensure the inclusion of all students in all learning experiences. About You The Learning Support Officer will cultivate a rich educational journey for our students by demonstrating the following selection criteria: Understanding of how to engage, relate and work appropriately and sensitively with young people with a range of abilities, ambitions and backgrounds. Previous experience in a student support role highly desirable. Hold a Cert III or Cert IV in Education Support at a minimum. Proven capacity to understand the needs of students that may have attainment below their age level, and apply appropriate learning support and encouragement to foster achievement and progression. Proven capacity to effectively engage and work collaboratively with other staff, fostering a culture of serving others, professionalism, responsibility and collegiality in open communication. Proven capacity to support the delivery of learning support curriculum and programs in a relevant, meaningful and engaging manner. Ability to operate technological aids and computer programs with students. Awareness of current trends in education and their application in the educational environment Proven capacity to work strategically and effectively through challenges. Engage in the College community and school events. This position is available for immediate commencement.
