About the role We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join Multi Construction Sdn Bhd in Kuching, Sarawak. This is a full-time position based in our Kuching office. As an Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the company's financial health. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, preparing financial statements, and supporting the organisation's strategic financial objectives. This position is essential to our finance department and contributes directly to the success of our construction business. What you'll be doing Recording and posting daily financial transactions to the general ledger and subsidiary accounts Preparing and reconciling bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable Assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports Processing employee payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with statutory requirements Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing and collections Maintaining comprehensive and accurate financial records in accordance with accounting standards Conducting account reconciliations and identifying and resolving discrepancies Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities Supporting the audit process by preparing necessary documentation and schedules Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting regulations, policies, and internal controls What we're looking for Recognised accounting qualification such as a Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, MIA, CPA, or equivalent is highly desirable Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in financial accounting and reporting roles in property developer and construction company Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with QuickBooks or similar systems is advantageous Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and local accounting standards in Malaysia Excellent attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate financial information Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines Good communication skills, both written and verbal Knowledge of construction industry accounting practices is a plus Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team About us Multi Construction Sdn Bhd is a reputable property developer and construction company based in Kuching, Sarawak.
