About the role The successful applicant will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the cropping program, persistent of rain grown crops - sorghum, forage, hays, corn silage, as well as the operation and maintenance of plant and machinery, at our property located approximately 240 km south of Darwin. Key responsibilities Overseeing general farm operations Managing and coordinating 4-5 farm staff and contractors Machinery and equipment operation and maintenance Property maintenance and infrastructure Planning and completing seasonal farming activities Maintaining a safe and productive working environment General farm duties as required Reporting to the directors Crop budgeting and planning working in with cattle manager Looking after approximately 4,000ha mixed cropping and new developing country Organising crop rotation Hay, Grain and Silage Production Farm Planning layout, cropping rotational programs Working with advanced agronomist About you Minimum 5 year experienced in a farm management or senior agricultural role Knowable in John Deer Opps Centre and Green Star Practical, reliable and hardworking Able to work independently and as part of a team A confident machinery operator and willing to teach others Committed to maintaining strict maintenance schedules Comfortable living and working in a remote station environment Well-organised with a strong attention to detail Enjoy days off while fishing in the Daly River and camping
