About Us Cubbie Ag is a leading agricultural property specialising in large-scale irrigated cotton and dryland farming. The Opportunity As a key member of our operations team, you will play an important role in the day-to-day running of our large-scale irrigated cotton and dryland farming property. Working closely with the Farm Manager, you will contribute to the ongoing success of our agricultural operations across a range of practical, hands-on tasks. Key Responsibilities Assisting with a variety of farming tasks including crop establishment, maintenance, and harvesting Operating and carrying out basic maintenance of farming equipment and machinery, including tractors and associated tillage and planting equipment Carrying out daily work programs as directed by the Farm Manager Farm road and field maintenance using drag buckets and associated equipment Agricultural chemical applications via boom, hand, and camera spraying Implementing all safety protocols and environmental regulations Participating in ongoing training through toolbox talks and structured learning opportunities Key Selection Criteria: KSC 1 Farm & Cropping Experience - Demonstrated experience as a farm hand or in an agricultural role, including general farm duties, crop establishment, crop maintenance, and harvesting operations. Experience in large-scale irrigated cotton or dryland cropping is highly regarded. KSC 2 Machinery & Equipment Operation - Demonstrated ability to safely operate a range of farming machinery and equipment, including tractors and associated tillage, planting, and maintenance implements. Commitment to basic equipment maintenance and pre-start procedures. KSC 3 Chemical Handling & Application - Demonstrated ability to safely handle and apply agricultural chemicals using boom, hand, and camera spraying methods. Understanding of relevant safety requirements and chemical handling regulations. KSC 4 WHS & Environmental Compliance - Demonstrated understanding of Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) requirements and environmental regulations as they apply to broadacre farming operations. Ability to follow and consistently apply safe work procedures, and to contribute to a safe working environment for self and others. KSC 5 Communication, Teamwork & Self-Management - Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of an operations team. Demonstrates initiative, reliability, adaptability, and a proactive work ethic. Ability to receive and follow work programs as directed by the Farm Manager, and to communicate clearly with supervisors and teammates. KSC 6 Qualifications, Licences & Work Rights - Hold a current and valid manual (C Class) driver’s licence. Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident with unrestricted rights to work in Australia. Note: applicants who cannot satisfy both requirements will not be progressed. Desirable: Chemical safety certification Experience operating Case or John Deere GPS guidance systems, or a demonstrated willingness and aptitude to learn. Police check (or willingness to obtain) Willingness to undergo drug and alcohol testing if required What We Offer Full-time, stable position with long-term employment potential, on-site single quarters accommodation available (Newly built and furnished accommodation). Reliable and practical, they bring a strong work ethic to the everyday running of a large-scale agricultural property and can integrate well into an onsite community-style living environment, positively supporting the team both at work and beyond. These roles are based in regional SWQLD and require extended periods on-site, involving long travel times and times away from family and friends.
