Leisure Centre Receptionist Lifeguard (KIAMA258) Permanent part-time position Kiama Council is committed to promoting diversity and fostering inclusion. We’re searching for an enthusiastic and reliable Receptionist Lifeguard to join our team at the Kiama Leisure Centre. In this varied and rewarding role, you’ll be the friendly face of the centre, assisting patrons with enquiries and bookings, supporting kiosk and reception operations, helping maintain a safe environment through lifeguarding duties and contributing to the overall success of our programs and services. Join our dedicated team to create a welcoming, safe and enjoyable experience for every visitor who walks through our doors. Key responsibilities as Leisure Centre Receptionist Lifeguard… In this role you’ll provide effective customer service to help ensure a positive experience for our patrons. The key responsibilities of this role include: Handling enquiries about the Leisure Centre’s activities from the public, both in person and over the phone Taking bookings for learn to swim classes and other programs Ensuring correct cash handling procedures are being adhered to and completing till checks and banking Processing sales of kiosk merchandise and ensuring the safe custody of all merchandise in the kiosk Ordering kiosk merchandise as required to ensure stock levels are maintained Undertaking lifeguard duties, administering first aid to ensure the safety of visitors Reporting accidents Assisting with setting up equipment for various Leisure Centre activities Cleaning the foyer, kiosk and amenities Taking all reasonable steps to ensure compliance with Council’s policies, procedures and legislation and care of self and others in the workplace. What we offer... Permanent part-time role, a minimum of 21 hours per week with days worked over a 4 weekly rotating roster Commencing annual salary from $39,591 to $43,649 Note: all rates provided are calculated on a 21-hour working week Salary is dependent on qualifications, skills and experience Annual performance-based progression opportunity to earn up to $48,123 Plus 12% superannuation Generous leave entitlement Access to Fitnes Passport and EAP Payment of licences, tickets and courses deemed essential for your role What you'll need to be successful in the role... To thrive in this role, you’ll bring a friendly, can-do attitude and a strong focus on creating positive experiences for every visitor. You’ll be confident communicating with people, managing your time, using computers and keyboards, handling cash accurately, and working collaboratively as part of a busy, supportive team. You’ll also need: A current Pool Lifeguard Award, or be working towards completion, to be finalised within one month of commencing employment A current First Aid Certificate A basic understanding of accounting procedures Reception experience in a sporting environment would be beneficial but is not essential. Pre-Employment Checks This is a child-related position. You will be required to provide Council with your valid and current Working with Children Check (WWCC) number as a condition of your employment. In addition, your employment will be subject to a National Criminal Record Check and Pre-employment Medical to determine your suitability for employment.
