Electrician (Solar Installations)

Your Responsibilities Will Include: Installing solar PV and battery-storage systems Site surveys done with drones Completing AC and DC electrical installation work Installing and connecting inverters, switchboards, protection equipment, monitoring, and communications systems Assisting with the mechanical installation of solar panels and mounting systems Testing, commissioning, and certifying completed electrical work Fault-finding and maintaining both new and existing solar systems Reading and following electrical drawings, system designs, and manufacturer specifications Working alongside designers, contractors, inspectors, and other members of the installation team Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with relevant compliance standards Completing accurate job notes, photographs, timesheets, and electrical documentation Keeping worksites, vehicles, tools, and equipment clean and organised Communicating professionally with customers, colleagues, and the office team This is a practical, hands-on position suited to an electrician who enjoys working independently while also being part of a team. What We’re Looking For Fully qualified electrician with current EWRB registration and practising licence (solar endorsement) Strong electrical knowledge and excellent practical problem-solving skills High standards of workmanship, safety, and compliance Reliable, organised, and proactive approach to work Ability to work independently and as part of an installation team Confident carrying out electrical testing and certification Strong communication and customer-service skills Comfortable working outdoors and at heights Keen to learn and develop skills in solar, battery, and energy-management technologies Full, clean New Zealand driver licence New Zealand residency or a valid work visa Desirable Experience Experience in any of the following would be an advantage: Solar PV installation Battery energy-storage systems Commercial or industrial electrical work Switchboard upgrades Off-grid power systems Electrical fault-finding Data, communications, or monitoring systems What You’ll Get Competitive remuneration based on skills and experience Company vehicle and phone plan.
