About Us Tekapo Springs is a premier tourism destination in the heart of the Mackenzie Basin, welcoming over 180,000 visitors annually from New Zealand and around the world. We offer a unique blend of wellness and adventure through our hot pools, day spa, ice skating rink, snow tube park, star gazing experiences, café and retail operations. As we continue to grow and invest in new facilities and attractions, we require an experienced Maintenance & Assets Manager to lead the maintenance and asset management function across the business. Operating seven days a week, our facilities rely on complex refrigeration systems, pool water treatment plant, mechanical services, electrical infrastructure and specialised tourism snow making equipment. The Maintenance & Assets Manager will be responsible for ensuring all assets are maintained safely, reliably and efficiently while developing a proactive maintenance culture focused on preventative maintenance, asset lifecycle planning and continuous improvement. Along with taking a focus on managing energy consumption to ensure that optimal running efficiency is being achieved. This role provides strategic leadership of maintenance planning, contractor management, compliance, asset management and capital planning to ensure Tekapo Springs continues to deliver a world-class guest experience. Key responsibilities MAINTENANCE LEADERSHIP: Lead and manage all maintenance activities across the Tekapo Springs operation. Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance programmes. Ensure plant, equipment and facilities operate safely, efficiently and reliably with minimal downtime. Coordinate reactive maintenance and emergency response activities. Maintain maintenance schedules and work order systems. Plant energy optimisation and efficiency ASSET MANAGEMENT: Develop and maintain the Asset Management Plan. Maintain an accurate asset register and equipment history. Monitor asset condition, performance and lifecycle costs. Develop long-term replacement and renewal programmes. Prepare annual CAPEX recommendations and business cases. Ensure maintenance records support informed asset investment decisions. TECHNICAL LEADERSHIP: Provide technical oversight across a broad range of plant and equipment including: Industrial refrigeration systems Pool filtration and water treatment systems Pumps and mechanical services Electrical infrastructure HVAC systems Ice rink equipment Snow making systems Buildings and infrastructure Heavy machinery and plant About you Tourism industry experience 7+ years, with focus on winter based activities (ski fields, snow making, snow play, luges, rink etc) Extensive experience managing maintenance operations, plant and equipment in a complex industrial or commercial environment Strong understanding of asset lifecycle management Experience with preventative maintenance systems Experience managing contractors Strong budgeting and financial management skills Experience using CMMS or maintenance software Excellent planning and organisational skills with strong communication and leadership capability Trade qualification or equivalent experience in mechanical fitting, industrial refrigeration, industrial electrical, heavy equipment maintenance, process plant maintenance, or facilities engineering Strong leadership capability, excellent problem-solving skills, calm under pressure, high attention to detail, sound commercial judgement, proactive and preventative mindset, strong customer focus, commitment to continuous improvement, ability to build positive working relationships, and pride in delivering high standards Highly Desirable Technical Background Trade qualification or equivalent experience in one or more of the following: Mechanical Fitting Industrial Refrigeration Industrial Electrical Heavy Equipment Maintenance Process Plant Maintenance Facilities Engineering Knowledge of: Pool water treatment systems Refrigeration systems Pumps and hydraulic systems Building services Mechanical plant Health & Safety at Work Act Hazardous substances management Apply directly with us on https://tekaposprings.bamboohr.com/careers/172?source=aWQ9Ng%3D%3D .
