Due to current workload and growth, we are creating an opportunity for a trainee to join the team and learn the industry. A Fire Equipment Technician is responsible for visiting customer sites and checking the fire equipment. The equipment you will be handling is fire extinguishers, hose reels, fire blankets. These checks are generally set at yearly intervals, so you won’t be seeing the same sites every month. Each month you will have a set run of sites to visit, test, and replace if required. You will be responsible for prioritizing your testing run to ensure it is completed each month. You will be working alongside experienced technicians with a vast amount of knowledge and experience who can answer just about every question about Fire Equipment. Being based in the Waikato, you will get to work on some unique and very interesting sites, such as Healthcare, retail, factories and many more. This role is for someone who likes routine and building relationships with customers. This role would ideally suit those who like to know what they are doing day in and day out. It is not just about your technical skills; it is how you deliver them. Duties Include: Testing extinguishers You will be handling CO2 and Dry Powder products You will be lifting weights up to 10 kg Visiting customer sites to test portable and fixed fire equipment Looking for sales opportunities You will hold : A clean, full NZ driver license Great customer service skills Great communication skills Clean Criminal history record Fit and able to walk, climb ladders and use your phone for recording test results.
