CRVCID. 744049 This is a Fixed Term Full Time appointment, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency. We currently have 2 Full Time positions available. About us The Mental Health Advocacy Service (MHAS) is established under Part 20 of the Mental Health Act 2014. It is an independent body providing support, advocacy and rights protection for identified persons, including involuntary mental health patients and psychiatric hostel residents. The Chief Mental Health Advocate (the Chief) engages Senior Mental Health Advocates (Senior Advocates) who supervise Mental Health Advocates, Youth Advocates and other specialist Advocates. About you We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Consumer Liaison Officer. About the role The Consumer Liaison Officer is responsible for working closely and in consultation with Senior Consumer Liaison Officers and Senior Advocates contribute to this outcome by: providing the first point of contact for consumers, identified persons and the public contacting MHAS by telephone, email and in person; processing notifications of statutory orders,tribunal reviews and statutory court notifications for individuals subjected to the Criminal Law (Mental Impairment) Act 2023 (CLMI Act), and requests for contact and coordinating their allocation to Advocates for action, including attendance to court; and providing other support for Advocates and Senior Advocates.
