1. Job Purpose To support the effectiveness of Operational Finance through accurate transaction processing, timely account reconciliations, proper maintenance of schedules and supporting documents, and reliable support for month-end close and year-end audit requirements. This role is intended to strengthen execution discipline in day-to-day finance operations and ensure recurring finance deliverables remain accurate, timely, and well-supported. 2. Key Duties and Responsibilities A. Transaction Processing Support Handle day-to-day finance processing, including journal preparation, accounting entries, and supporting documentation. Ensure transactions are recorded accurately, completely, and supported by proper evidence. Follow up on missing documentation, coding issues, mismatches, or unresolved finance processing matters. Support operational finance activities across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and other assigned finance areas. B. Reconciliations and Schedule Maintenance Prepare and maintain monthly reconciliations for key balance sheet and control accounts. Support reconciliation of bank balances, receivables, payables, accruals, prepayments, advances, and other assigned accounts. Maintain detailed schedules and ensure balances agree to general ledger records. Investigate reconciling items and follow up with relevant parties for timely resolution. C. Month-End Close Support Support monthly close tasks according to the closing checklist and reporting timeline. Prepare standard close schedules, working files, and supporting analysis for review. Ensure recurring finance schedules are updated accurately and submitted on time. Assist in ensuring all assigned closing deliverables are properly documented and filed. D. Audit and Documentation Support Prepare audit schedules, transaction listings, confirmations, and supporting documents required for year-end audit and internal review. Maintain proper filing and documentation for reconciliations, transaction support, and finance records. Ensure working papers remain orderly, accurate, and easily retrievable. E. Operational Finance Controls Comply with internal finance SOPs, approval controls, and document retention requirements. Assist in identifying recurring processing issues, control gaps, and opportunities for improved finance discipline. Support implementation of better process discipline and documentation standards within operational finance. Support ad hoc operational finance assignments as directed by superiors. F. Cross-Functional Support Work closely with Operations Finance team members and relevant internal departments to ensure timely completion of recurring finance tasks and supporting schedules. Liaise with external auditors and internal stakeholders on finance documentation, reconciliations, and audit support matters. Support coordination of operational finance information required for month-end close, audit, and reporting purposes. 3. Job Requirements Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline. Professional qualification or accounting-related certification is an added advantage. Experience Minimum 3–5 years of relevant working experience in finance operations, bookkeeping, month-end close support, general accounting, or reconciliation work. Experience in handling AP, AR, GL, and supporting schedules is preferred. Exposure to audit support and finance documentation control will be an added advantage. Knowledge Good understanding of operational finance processes and accounting entries. Familiarity with reconciliations, month-end close support, and supporting schedule maintenance. Basic knowledge of finance SOPs, internal controls, and documentation requirements. Skills and Competencies Good Excel skills and disciplined working style. Able to manage detailed schedules, reconciliations, and document follow-up. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Responsible, hands-on, and able to work in a timeline-driven finance environment. Good coordination and follow-up capability. 4. Key Performance Indicators Accuracy and timeliness of day-to-day finance processing and accounting entries. Timely completion of monthly reconciliations and supporting schedules. Timely submission of month-end close supporting files according to reporting timeline. Quality and completeness of audit schedules, transaction listings, and supporting documents. Proper maintenance of finance records and working papers. Timely follow-up and clearance of reconciling items and unresolved processing matters. Compliance with finance SOPs, approval controls, and document retention requirements. 5. Summary Main Focus: Transaction processing, reconciliations, month-end close support, audit support, and documentation control. Minimum Experience: 3–5 years. Preferred Background: Finance professional with solid operational finance experience, strong execution discipline, and good documentation control. Key Internal / External Liaison: Internal departments, external auditors, and relevant stakeholders. Main Deliverables: Accounting entries, reconciliations, close support files, audit schedules, and finance documentation.
