About the Role Are you a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in getting things done right? Southern Plants is looking for an experienced Dispatch Supervisor to join our team in Dromana — one of the most highly regarded wholesale nurseries in Victoria. In this role, you'll lead and develop our dispatch team, ensuring plant orders are prepared, loaded, and dispatched accurately, on time, and to the highest quality standards. You'll work closely with our Dispatch Manager and play a key role in keeping our operation running smoothly every day. This is a truly hands-on supervisory role — you'll be working alongside your team in the dispatch area, getting involved in preparing and dispatching orders as well as leading the team. What you'll be doing Leading, mentoring, and motivating the dispatch team Planning and coordinating daily dispatch operations Ensuring orders are picked, packed, and dispatched on time and in full Ensuring trucks are loaded safely and depart on schedule Overseeing quality standards — ensuring plants are dispatch-ready Assisting with paperwork, delivery documentation, and stock movements Liaising with production, sales, and transport providers Maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient dispatch area Supporting your team's training and development What we're looking for Essential Previous experience in a dispatch, logistics, or supervisory role Hands-on leadership style with a lead-by-example approach Strong communication and organisational skills Calm under pressure with the ability to solve problems quickly Committed to quality, safety, and on-time delivery Desirable Experience in a nursery, horticultural, or agricultural environment Current LF Forklift Licence Hours Monday – Thursday: 7:00am – 3:45pm Friday: 7:45am – 12:45pm What we offer Competitive salary Half-day Fridays — enjoy everything the Mornington Peninsula has to offer Supportive, hands-on leadership team Regular team lunches and morning teas Generous staff discounts on plants Be part of a sustainable, family-owned business that genuinely looks after its people About us Southern Plants has been proudly growing plants since 1946.
