Exceptional Leadership Opportunity Term 1 2027 Start Be part of the School's operational foundations! The opportunity Redlands is an independent Anglican coeducational school of around 1,800 students in Cremorne, Sydney. We are seeking a highly capable Dean of Operations (7-12) to provide strategic and practical leadership of the operational foundations of the Secondary School. This senior leadership role works in close partnership with the Head of Secondary School and the Secondary School Leadership Team. The Dean will lead timetabling, staffing operations, calendar and events, facilities and space allocation, assessment and enrolment logistics, data systems, and emergency procedures. The successful candidate will create equitable, transparent and responsive systems that protect high-quality academic time while enabling the breadth of experiences that define a Redlands education. Teaching Load : This role will have a 0.2FTE teaching load, to be agreed with he Head of Secondary School. Leadership: The successful candidate will have a five year leadership appointment, providing an excellent opportunity for leadership growth, future career development and potential renewal. What success will look like A robust annual timetable and responsive daily operations that minimise disruption to teaching and learning Equitable, transparent systems for staff workloads, leave, covers, duties and entitlements A balanced Secondary School calendar that integrates academic, co-curricular, cultural, sporting and community priorities Well-coordinated Student Led Conferences, Days of Growth, assessments, enrolments and key events Purposeful use of data and Power BI reporting to inform student support and operational planning Effective management of teaching spaces, rooming, administration resources and operational risks Clear emergency procedures, prepared staff and continuous improvement following critical incidents Who you are You are an operationally astute educational leader who can translate strategy into clear, well-managed systems, and can anticipate complexity, take initiative and act proactively to solve problems. You communicate with purpose and stay calm under pressure while keeping students, staff and learning at the centre of every decision. You have: A proven outstanding classroom teacher with current NESA accreditation and 7-12 experience Demonstrated understanding of secondary school timetabling, with proficiency in Edval or equivalent software Exceptional strategic planning, organisation, project management and problem-solving capability Experience creating fair and transparent approaches to staffing, workload, duties and operational expectations Confident with compliance, WHS, risk mitigation, privacy and the management of sensitive information A clear and collaborative communicator who can work effectively across a complex school community Strong digital literacy and experience with school management systems; Power BI capability is highly regarded Prior formal or middle leadership experience and postgraduate study in educational leadership or management are desirable How to Apply Please apply via the Redlands website with a curriculum vitae, a cover letter of no more than two pages responding to this advertisement, and the names of three referees.
