Account Assistant

About the role This is an accounting support role responsible for managing daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions. The role involves invoice preparation, payment processing, bank reconciliation, and support with month-end closing and financial reporting. Key responsibilities Handle daily accounting entries including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and General Ledger (GL) Prepare and issue invoices, debit notes, and credit notes Perform payment processing via cheque or online transfer Manage daily petty cash transactions Prepare Payment Vouchers (PV) and Receipt Vouchers (RV) Follow up on outstanding payments from customers Verify and record supplier invoices Perform bank reconciliation for company accounts Maintain proper accounting records and filing Assist in month-end closing processes for multiple accounts Prepare basic financial schedules for management review. Support audit and tax documentation preparation. Liaise with internal departments and external parties regarding accounting matters. Purchase office pantry supplies and manages daily office administrative needs. Perform any other ad-hoc tasks assigned by HOD or management. About you SPM, LCCI, or a Diploma/ Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance. Minimum 2–4 years of experience in accounting or finance support role Experience handling AP, AR, GL, bank reconciliation, and petty cash Exposure to month-end closing and basic financial reporting is preferred Familiar with accounting software; Auto Count Accounting experience is an advantage Basic knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles Bahasa Malaysia and English required.
