Te Wero – The Challenge Far North District Council is seeking a motivated and customer-focused PIMs Officer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in ensuring quality, compliant development across the Far North while contributing to positive outcomes for our communities. As a PIMs Officer, you'll be responsible for assessing building consent applications and Project Information Memorandum (PIM) requirements, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and district planning requirements. You'll work alongside customers, industry professionals, stakeholders, and Council teams to provide expert advice and support throughout the building consent process. Your ability to balance technical accuracy with outstanding customer service will be key to your success. I ā koe - About You We're looking for someone who combines technical knowledge with a genuine commitment to customer service and community outcomes. You must be a relationship-focused professional who builds trust easily, approaches challenges with a collaborative, solutions-focused mindset, and is committed to delivering outstanding customer service. A recognised New Zealand qualification in Building, Planning, Environmental Studies, or a related field. Sound knowledge of the Building Act, Resource Management Act, and District Plan requirements. Experience in a customer-focused environment. Strong computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Outstanding relationship-building and stakeholder engagement abilities. Experience documenting decisions, reports, and process workflows to a high standard. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities. A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement. The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment. A passion for achieving the best outcomes for our communities. The salary for this position is Grade 13 within Council's salary structure (Band: $70,487 to $82,926 pro rata per annum) dependent on qualifications and experience, plus Kiwi Saver.
