Full Job Description ANZUK Education is proud to be partnering with a highly regarded independent school in Brisbane in the search for an experienced Teacher of IB English A: Language and Literature. This permanent, full-time opportunity will commence in Term 4, 2026 and would suit an accomplished English teacher with strong International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme experience who is looking to join a collaborative and academically focused school community. About the Role The successful candidate will teach IBDP English A: Language and Literature to highly engaged Senior Years students and contribute to the broader academic and co-curricular life of the school. Key responsibilities will include: Planning and delivering engaging and academically rigorous IBDP English A: Language and Literature lessons Developing students' critical thinking, analytical and communication skills across language and literary studies Designing and delivering curriculum and assessment aligned with IB requirements Providing high-quality feedback to support student progress and achievement Contributing collaboratively to curriculum planning and faculty initiatives Supporting the academic growth, wellbeing and development of students Contributing to the broader life and culture of the school About You The successful candidate will be an experienced and passionate English educator with a strong understanding of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. You will ideally demonstrate: Strong knowledge of and demonstrated experience teaching IBDP English A: Language and Literature A strong understanding of IB philosophy, curriculum and assessment practices Experience teaching English within the Senior Years Strong knowledge of QCAA requirements and the Australian Curriculum The ability to teach an additional secondary teaching area within the IBDP and/or QCE would be advantageous A demonstrated ability to engage and challenge high-achieving students Relevant IB professional development and/or experience as an IB examiner, moderator or workshop leader would be highly regarded Requirements Current Queensland College of Teachers registration, or eligibility to obtain registration Relevant tertiary teaching qualifications Demonstrated experience within the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, particularly English A: Language and Literature Apply Now If you are an experienced IB English teacher looking for your next opportunity within a leading independent school, we would love to hear from you.
