Key Responsibilities Take ownership of monthly and yearly closing for Beacon Mart outlets and Beacon Mart Holding (BMH), ensuring timely and accurate completion. Maintain the integrity of the General Ledger (GL), including journal entries, accruals, prepayments, reconciliations and closing schedules. Review balance sheet schedules and investigate unusual or long-outstanding items to ensure accurate financial records. Prepare monthly management accounts, financial schedules and variance analysis for management review. Prepare tax-related schedules and supporting documents, and coordinate with tax agents on tax computation and compliance matters. Prepare audit schedules, liaise with external auditors and ensure supporting documents are complete for yearly audit requirements. Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process, including consolidation of inputs and analysis of actual performance against budget. Build and maintain financial and business performance dashboards for management, including key financial and operational KPIs. Perform business analysis on revenue, gross profit, operating expenses, profitability, working capital and other business trends to identify risks and opportunities. Prepare clear financial summaries, charts and management presentations to support business reviews and decision-making. Work closely with Finance, Operations and other departments to resolve accounting issues and improve data accuracy and reporting quality. Support process improvements, automation and strengthening of internal controls within the finance function. Apply suitable digital and AI tools, where appropriate, to improve efficiency in financial analysis, reporting, dashboard preparation and routine finance work. Perform other ad-hoc assignments as required by the Finance Manager / Head of Finance. Requirements Minimum Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in accounting, preferably with retail or FMCG industry exposure. Hands-on experience in monthly closing, year-end closing, General Ledger and preparation of financial schedules is required. Exposure to tax, audit, budgeting, management reporting or business analysis will be an added advantage. Strong accounting knowledge with good analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and able to work independently while meeting tight closing deadlines. Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience in building management dashboards using Excel, Power BI or equivalent tools will be an advantage. Familiar with accounting software such as SQL, AutoCount, Dynamod or equivalent. Able to interpret financial data and translate findings into practical business insights for management. Candidates with practical knowledge of AI tools for finance, data analysis, automation or dashboard preparation will be given priority.
