Hong Kong’s vibrant food scene is a cornerstone of its tourism appeal, yet the way visitors perceive and experience "authentic local food" is a complex and evolving journey. The research project entitled “The Authenticity Paradox: The Hong Kong’s Local Food Experiences” Project no. (R6A10) aims to systematically map this perceptual journey, from the expectations tourists hold before they arrive, to their sensory experiences on the ground, and their final reflections. We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the Lee Shau Kee School of Business and Administration : Temporary Research Associate / Assistant I/II / Technical Assistant (Project no: R6A10) (B&A) (Ref.: 26001V9) Major Duties and Responsibilities The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following: Assisting in research participant recruitment; Conducting on-site fieldwork at designated locations; Acting as a point of contact for respondents, explaining the research objectives, obtaining informed consent, and ensuring high-quality data collection; Performing rigorous data cleaning to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the collected data; Providing support with data entry and analysis using SPSS software; Providing assistance in a broad range of administrative duties, including preparation of project notes and reports; and Conducting other ad-hoc research activities as instructed by the Principal Investigator. Candidates Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence: A bachelor’s degree, preferably a higher degree, in Tourism and Hospitality Management, Social Sciences, Marketing, Statistics, Psychology, or a related field; Prior experience in conducting survey-based research, fieldwork, and quantitative data analysis is essential. Experience in a university research setting is an advantage; Proficiency in using statistical software such as SPSS and ability to perform descriptive statistics, factor analysis, and cluster analysis; Excellent command of spoken and written English; and Detailed-oriented, hardworking, organized, responsible, self-motivated, and able to meet tight deadlines and work independently.
