Parts Consultant – Christchurch Porter Parts Ltd Do you thrive on delivering great customer service, finding solutions and closing sales? Porter Parts is looking for a motivated and customer-focused Parts Consultant to join our Christchurch team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys building strong customer relationships, solving problems and identifying sales opportunities in a fast-paced environment. You may come from a parts, automotive, heavy equipment, industrial or trade background. Most importantly, you’ll have a genuine desire to help customers and the drive to achieve great results. About the Role As a Parts Consultant, you’ll be responsible for managing customer enquiries, identifying the right parts and solutions, and maximising sales opportunities across our range of new, used and remanufactured parts. You’ll work closely with customers, suppliers and colleagues to deliver outstanding service while contributing to the continued growth of Porter Parts. Customer enquiries will come through a range of channels, including: Walk-in customers Phone enquiries Email and online enquiries Internal and external referrals This is a sales-focused role with commission incentives, with ongoing training and opportunities for career development within Porter Parts and the wider Porter Group. Key Responsibilities Generate and grow parts sales revenue. Respond promptly and professionally to customer enquiries. Identify and source the right parts and solutions for customers. Prepare quotations and process customer orders. Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships. Follow up quotations and sales opportunities. Process invoices, credits and transactions accurately. Support stock and inventory accuracy. Assist with freight and logistics requirements when required. Work collaboratively with the wider Porter Group team. What We're Looking For The successful applicant will be: Customer-focused with excellent communication skills. Confident building relationships and identifying sales opportunities. Positive, proactive and solutions-focused. Organised and able to manage multiple priorities. Accurate with strong attention to detail. Comfortable using computers and business systems. Able to work independently as well as part of a team. Driven to achieve results. A holder of a full New Zealand Driver Licence. Experience That Would Be an Advantage Ideally, you’ll also have: Previous parts sales experience. Knowledge of automotive, construction equipment, agricultural or industrial products. Experience in a customer-facing sales environment. Forklift licence, or willingness to obtain one.
