Fire Technician - Palmerston North

Our Palmerston North Compliance department provides multi-disciplined building services ranging from building compliance to the design, installation and maintenance of fire protection systems, sprinkler systems, electrical systems in commercial buildings. About the role The purpose of this role is to provide technical expertise to allow the completion and documentation for the inspection and testing requirements of various building systems and features pertaining to the issue of a Building Warrant of Fitness as directed by the Office Manager in accordance with the relevant New Zealand Standards. Key responsibilities Undertake monthly testing and annual surveys of Building Warrant of Fitness systems and features to the requirement of the relevant Standards, including fire sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, emergency lighting systems, fire hose reels and extinguishers, and passive features Ensure timely completion of all allocated testing and remedial works and assist where required to ensure 100% planned maintenance completion every month Follow Company documentation requirements and accurately record all test results, system defects, and afterhours call outs through the use of the iPad and the SimPRO System Assist the overall business in driving the planned maintenance, evacuation and compliance business forward, achieving targets in conjunction with the various Stake Holders Provide the highest levels of service delivery and technical expertise ensuring that the company or clients are not placed at risk Conduct trial evacuations of buildings Hold and maintain a valid NZ drivers licence applicable to the role Ensure professional level, including qualifications, are maintained to meet the required standards to operate in the industry and comply with all rules and regulations Provide sound advice, guidance, technical support and help to all Property Brokers Compliance Limited customers, office and field staff Ensure dress, personal presentation and conduct is of the highest standard applicable to the task at hand About you Valid NZ drivers licence applicable to the role Professional qualifications maintained to meet required standards to operate in the industry Maintain a Site Safe Construction or maintenance passport as applicable to the role Comply with Company Employment Health & Safety Policies and applicable legislation Conduct yourself and complete duties in a safe manner taking consideration of work environment, clients and the public Part of the on call roster for afterhours call outs Level 3 or 4 Fire industry qualification is desired, but training will be provided to the right candidate Must live in or near Palmerston North or be willing to move there About us Property Brokers Compliance Limited is part of Property Brokers Limited, a company licensed under the REAA 2008.
