Keep critical equipment, such as small engines and vehicle services, running for NZ's leading marine and salvage company based in Otahuhu. This is a solo workshop-based role where your work directly enables field diving teams to operate across some of New Zealand's most demanding job sites. The role also includes 3–5 weeks of national travel per year to support equipment maintenance across their other sites. The Details Location: Otahuhu, Auckland Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 am – 4 pm Permanent Offer Option: $80,000 - $95,000 Casual Offer Option: $39 p/h - $46 p/h + OT Travel: 3–5 weeks per year, national sites Start: ASAP for the right person What You'll Be Doing Service and repair small engines and hydraulic equipment - compressors, hydraulic packs, water blasters, hydraulic chainsaws plus fleet vehicles, trailers and basic dive equipment Pre-deployment checks on trucks, cars, trailers and equipment Log and track machinery compliance via tablet Maintain accurate service records Occasional national travel (3–5 weeks out of the year) to support equipment maintenance across NZDS sites (Christchurch, Wellington, New Plymouth, Stewart Island, Wanaka) What We're Looking For Small engine mechanic (with either lots of experience or a trade qualification) Able to disassemble, service, and reassemble a range of small engines Backgrounds in small engines, outdoor power equipment, hydraulics, vehicle servicing, or similar trades welcome Self-managing, adaptable, able to prioritise independently Comfortable working solo (~90% workshop-based) and willing to travel nationally for 3-5 weeks per year BONUS if you're able to weld and fabricate Minimum Requirements Full NZ Driver's Licence NZ Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Open Work Visa Clean Drug test + MOJ check Two contactable references Why Apply?
