About the role The HSE Officer plays a founding role in shaping the safety and environmental culture of the yard. The HSE Officer is present on the shopfloor every day, walking the yard, talking to the teams, and making safety feel real and practical — not administrative. The HSE Officer is the face of HSE at PMG: approachable, dynamic, and genuinely committed to protecting people and the environment. The role covers two complementary areas: Health & Safety across all production activities, and Environmental management including waste, permits and emissions — both approached with the same fieldwork-first mindset. Key responsibilities Be present on the shopfloor daily — walk the yard, engage with teams, observe practices and intervene when needed Conduct regular workplace inspections and safety audits across all production areas (composite and metal) Identify hazards proactively and work with supervisors to implement corrective actions quickly Lead toolbox talks, safety briefings and HSE awareness sessions in a clear, engaging and accessible way Carry out safety inductions for all new employees, contractors and visitors Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses; produce clear reports and track corrective actions to closure Monitor PPE availability, usage and condition across all teams Support risk assessments and method statement reviews before new tasks or projects begin Manage the yard's waste operations: daily collection, segregation and disposal of industrial and general waste in compliance with Thai environmental law Manage environmental permits and licenses required for the yard's operations Annual Safety Training Plan: Formulate and develop the annual safety, occupational health, and work environment training plan (Annual Safety Training Plan) in compliance with legal requirements and organizational risks About you Bachelor's degree in occupational health & safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or a related field Professional Safety Officer certification as required by Thai legislation 2 to 5 years of experience in an HSE role, ideally in shipbuilding, manufacturing, construction or heavy industry Hands-on experience conducting workplace inspections, risk assessments and incident investigations Experience in waste management and environmental compliance is an advantage Excellent communicator — able to engage confidently with shopfloor workers, supervisors and senior management alike Dynamic and proactive — identify problems before they happen and propose solutions, not just observations Comfortable working in a multicultural, multilingual environment (Thai, English, international teams) Organized and rigorous — able to maintain accurate records while staying focused on fieldwork Good command of written and spoken English; Thai is essential
