About the role We are looking for a builder, not a coordinator . This role owns the requirement — from a blank page to an end-to-end system design that developers can build from. If your experience is primarily arranging meetings and chasing status, this role will not be a fit. Qualifications Core capability — hands-on requirement creation (non-negotiable) Must have proven hands-on Business Analyst experience, with the ability to independently engage with users and stakeholders to gather, analyze, validate, and document business and system requirements. Must be able to personally design end-to-end (E2E) systems and business processes — not just document what users say. This means being able to draw the full picture yourself: customer journey → channel/front-end → back-office and operations → core system and integrations → data, reporting, reconciliation, and exception handling. Must be able to personally lead and facilitate requirement-gathering workshops , stakeholder interviews, and design sessions — standing at the whiteboard, driving the discussion, resolving conflicting needs on the spot, and converting the outcome into documented requirements. Coordinating or delegating these sessions to others is not what this role does. Must be able to create requirements from an ambiguous starting point . Many requests arrive as a one-line business idea; you are expected to shape it into a workable solution design, not wait for a completed specification from the business. Background Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field. At least 3 years of experience in banking, non-bank financial services, or financial technology. Experience in relevant areas such as non-bank lending, BNPL, payments, digital wallets, or banking agent services. Proven experience as a Business Analyst, Product Owner, Product Manager, or in a related role — with a portfolio of systems or products you personally designed the requirements for , and the ability to walk us through those designs in detail. Skills Ability to translate business requirements into E2E process flows, system/context diagrams, functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and other documentation required by the development team. Ability to read and reason about system behaviour — data flows, API/interface touchpoints, system states, error and edge cases — well enough to hold a technical design discussion with developers and architects as a peer. Familiarity with MVP concepts and Agile development methodologies. Strong understanding of financial products, services, and markets. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong facilitation, communication, and project coordination skills in English; Chinese language skills are an advantage. Excellent collaboration and stakeholder management skills. Responsibilities Act as a hands-on Business Analyst by personally engaging with users and stakeholders to elicit, analyze, clarify, validate, and document business and system requirements. Design the end-to-end solution — own the full E2E flow across customer-facing channels, operations, back-office, integrations with internal and partner systems, and downstream data/reconciliation — and be accountable for its completeness, including edge cases, failure paths, and non-happy-path scenarios. Lead and facilitate requirement-gathering workshops , stakeholder interviews, and design sessions to uncover business needs, pain points, and operational processes — and drive them to a decision, not just to meeting minutes. Translate business needs into clear functional and non-functional requirements, process flows, user stories, and acceptance criteria for the development team. Work closely with users, developers, and relevant stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle to clarify requirements and ensure that the delivered solution meets business needs. Lead and coordinate cross-functional IT squads while managing multiple internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful product delivery. Define and prioritize product features based on customer needs, market research, operational requirements, and business objectives. Develop and maintain the product roadmap, product backlog, and release plan. Collaborate closely with Business, Compliance, Operations, and other relevant functions to ensure that user and regulatory requirements are incorporated into the product design. Communicate the product vision, strategy, priorities, and roadmap to relevant stakeholders. Continuously analyze product performance and make data-driven decisions to improve product and business metrics. Coordinate end-to-end product implementation, testing, deployment, and rollout. Be adaptable and thrive in a fast-paced, start-up-like environment. Travel Requirements This position may require travel of up to 5% of working time to support project implementation and on-site deployment.
